Urus ST-X Concept: the World’s First Super SUV Goes Racing

17 November 2018

Urus ST-X Concept is proof that Lamborghini love challenging themselves. “Since We Made It Possible” is entering the next level with Urus ST-X, the first racing Super SUV presented by Lamborghini Squadra Corse during the 2018 Super Trofeo World Final.

The vehicle will make its debut in Europe and the Middle East in 2020 in an unprecedented single-brand championship that will mix track with off-road racing. This format will offer customer drivers total flexibility and support during the weekends dictated by fun, also thanks to the FIA licensed circuits set up with the “arrive and drive” formula.

Urus ST-X Concept has been mechanically optimized and opens a new path to experience the Lamborghini branded motorsport: the steel rollcage, fire extinguishing system and FT3 tank are the FIA licensed safety elements forming its optimized mechanics.
Its looks are also impressive. Standing out on the Mantis green livery is the exposed carbon fiber hood with larger vents that assist the heat exchange of the twin-turbo V8 engine capable of delivering 650 CV and 850 Nm torque. The rear wing, side racing exhausts marked by a brand new hexagonal design and 21” single-nut rims in aluminum alloy fitted out with Pirelli tires complete the new SSUV.

The racing configuration is 25% lighter in weight than the road model. Its reduced weight, together with the raised setup and torsional stiffness provided by the rollcage built into the frame, contribute to making Urus ST-X Concept a car without compromise that will take to the track during the 2019 Lamborghini World Finals.
