A Selvans green Huracán Tecnica silhouetted against the twilight of the Scottish countryside, unleashing the roughness that makes the sound of its engine – in both volume and extension – like a woman’s contralto voice. And to soften the scene are the alluring thoughts of the singer-songwriter who has sold 12 million copies, Amy Macdonald, as she launches this 10-cylinder Lamborghini between sharp U-bends and straightaways, freeing her thoughts on the relationship between music and the road, creation and the automotive universe.

“I spend a lot of time in the studio creating demos and always searching for the perfect balance, and the car is the place I love the most to listen to myself again and grasp the point my work has reached,” said the artist in an exclusive clip made for the launch of the second volume of the compilation The Engine Songs, created by the Lamborghini sound engineers together with music producer Alex Trecarichi. “As a car buff though, I also love to lower the volume to zero and totally immerse myself in my psyche, accompanied only by the sound of the engine.”

It is a melody that, for Lamborghini fans, “is a fundamental attribute,” explained NVH wholevehicle coordinator of the House of the Raging Bull Mauro Mautone. “It is grit that, with its high volumes truly comparable to a woman’s vocality, the 10-cylinder engine reaches maximum expressiveness.”

Presented last April, Huracán Tecnica is the latest-generation rear-wheel drive V10-engined Lamborghini, developed for those who are looking for lifestyle perfection and driving fun, both on the road and on the track.

“The sound of the Huracán is exhilarating and makes me feel powerful,” said Macdonald as she downshifted with her hands decorated with star-shaped tattoos. “And there is a clear similarity between driving while enjoying the car’s sounds and being on stage giving my all with my voice. I feel the same power on stage that I perceive when I drive.”

In the meantime, the recording studio in the outskirts of Glasgow has been reached. The Engine Songs V10, in the background, is playing Hot Cause I’m Fly by Moodrich. The engine is idling at 41,2 hertz. The woman’s voice, tuned in E major, is resting for now.
