Lamborghini Racegraph by Bundang’s Peter Li Zhicong and Lamborghini Super Trofeo Junior team-mate Titus Sherlock, along with fellow Junior drivers Liam Sceats and Gustaw Wisniewski at Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR), shared the spoils in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia round five at the 5.451 km Shanghai International Circuit.

In the final Asian round of the season, and the last appearance in the region for the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 before the eagerly-awaited arrival of the new Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo for the 2027 season, VSR’s PRO-AM stars Todd Kingsford and Chris van der Drift wrapped up the class title with three races in hand. Extending their unbroken, season-long run of PRO-AM victories, a win in race one was enough to secure them an unassailable points lead.

While the PRO battle will go down to the wire in the final round, two more titles in addition to PRO-AM were decided in Shanghai. True Visions Motorsports Thailand’s Suttiluck Buncharoen dominated the AM class with two more victories to clinch his third Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia AM title. Another double Lamborghini Cup win from countryman Supachai Weeraborwornpong at Siamgas Corse saw the popular driver earn a sensational fifth title. 

Sherlock and Li Zhicong took their first victory together with a triumphant pole-to-flag win in race one. Second over the line were Kingsford and van der Drift, their perfect score of eight out of eight PRO-AM wins securing the 2026 title. Third were PRO points leaders William Tregurtha and Jonathan Cecotto for Batmobile Racing.

A VSR one-two overall finish in race two saw Sceats and Gustaw Wisniewski take victory ahead of stablemates Kingsford and van der Drift, the PRO-AM pair the epitome of team players. Third on the road and second in PRO were Li and Sherlock.

Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia now bids farewell to the region for 2026, and heads to the brand’s home territory for round six at Italy’s celebrated Monza Circuit. The season final double-header will be held from 22-23 October, immediately followed by the World Finals. 

Race one

Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph’s Titus Sherlock led the field away at the start of race one courtesy of a blistering pole-setting qualifying lap, his first in the series. As the field was unleashed for the penultimate time in Asia this season in front of a thousands-strong crowd, the resolve of the talented Lamborghini Super Trofeo Junior driver was clear to all as he tore clear of the chasing pack.

Behind Sherlock, fellow Junior driver Liam Sceats was in hot pursuit until hard-charging PRO points leader William Tregurtha swept past in the Batmobile Racing Lamborghini, demoting the New Zealander to third. 

VSR’s Todd Kingsford led the PRO-AM runners, the rapid privateer fourth overall ahead of AM leader and class pole-sitter Suttiluck Buncharoen for True Visions Motorsports Thailand. 

Putera Mu’azzam made the most gains off the start in the Batmobile Racing sister car, having started from the back of the field after a grid penalty. The talented young Malaysian soared to fifth overall over the opening stages of the 24-lap race.

While the front runners settled into battle, an incident between Tregurtha and Kingsford saw the PRO points leader lose ground, dropping him down the order. Kingsford was later handed a 10 second penalty for the incident. The clash temporarily benefitted Mu’azzam, who gained a further place until a determined Tregurtha snatched it back and set off in pursuit of Kingsford.

When the pit window opened, Sherlock had built further on his advantage out front from Sceats, while Kingsford kept Tregurtha at bay. Behind them, Mu’azzam maintained his cracking pace, chased by Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph’s solo PRO driver Barrett Wolfe making his second Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia appearance. Buncharoen kept his vice-like grip on the AM lead ahead of fellow Thai and Lamborghini Cup leader Supachai Weeraborwornpong at Siamgas Corse. 

Having completed a flawless stint to extend the team’s pole advantage to six seconds, Sherlock pitted to hand the car to team mate Peter Li Zhicong. Sceats passed the wheel of the VSR PRO car to fellow Lamborghini Super Trofeo Junior Gustaw Wisniewski, the Pole resuming second in the order, now chasing Li.

Tregurtha’s team-mate Jonathan Checotto emerged from the changeover in third, a whisker in front of Chris van der Drift, the New Zealander having taken the reins from Kingsford. 

There was bad news for the Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph PRO-AM pair of Tommy Ku Siu Lam and Chiow Teck Song, and Kamlung Racing’s AM duo Bertram Lau and Mak Hing Tak, when both were handed drive through penalties for pit lane speeding infringements.

Up at the front, Li was busy building on his team mate’s impressive lead, eventually sweeping over the finish more than 12 seconds clear of Wisniewski to take his and Sherlock’s first win together. Cecotto crossed the line third to take the final PRO podium, chased all the way by on-the-limit PRO-AM winner van der Drift, who celebrated his and Kingsford’s first title together after an unbroken run of class victories. 

Second in the PRO-AM class were Mu’azzam and Batmobile Racing team mate Kumar Prabakaran, the latter having heroically held class challengers Chiow and Ku at bay to the flag.

Buncharoen took the AM victory, his eighth of the season. SQDA-GRIT Motorsport finished second in the AM class, Brian Lee Changwoo making a triumphant return to the series alongside Kevin Lee, racing for the first time ever outside his native Korea. Third in class were Kamlung Racing’s Lau and Mak.

Also taking his eighth Lamborghini Cup class victory of the season was Weeraborwornpong ahead of Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph’s Gerald Goh and Terence Tse.

Race two

Batmobile Racing’s Jonathan Cecotto started from pole for race two, the final Asian encounter of the season, bolting clear of Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph’s Peter Li Zhicong as the field hurtled into the opening lap. Chris van der Drift was quickly on the move from third, diving on the inside of Li to snatch second in the order for VSR. Behind them, an error by Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph’s Barrett Wolfe allowed SQDA-GRIT Motorsport’s AM talent Brian Lee Changwoo dive up to fourth.

Out in front, Cecotto was flying, the Monegasque well clear of van der Drift when his car suddenly slowed. Cecotto pulled the car over and into retirement, a technical glitch putting paid to his and team mate William Tregurtha’s hopes of another victory.

That put newly-crowned PRO-AM champion van der Drift in the lead, and the New Zealander set about extending his advantage before handing over to team mate Todd Kingsford at the pit window. 

As the driver changeover neared, Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph’s Chiow Teck Song ended up in the gravel, triggering a Full Course Yellow. That initiated a stampede into the pits, with Kingsford resuming the race lead for VSR with Li’s team mate Titus Sherlock in hot pursuit.

Battle resumed with a little over 20 minutes remaining, and Sherlock immediately began eating into Kingsford’s five-second advantage. Behind the pair, Liam Sceats had taken the wheel from Wisniewski and got by SQDA-GRIT Motorsport AM driver Kevin Lee to snatch third, with solo driver Wolfe having completed his mandatory stop in fourth. 

Moments later, True Visions Motorsports Thailand’s Suttiluck Buncharoen got by Lee to snatch the AM lead, with Lamborghini Cup leader Supachai Weeraborwornpong also getting by. 

Up at the front Sherlock continued to home in on Kingsford, and minutes later the battle for victory looked well and truly on, the American swarming all over the back of the Australian-born Thai driver. Moments later, however, Sherlock was caught out by dirty track, the resulting detour allowing Kingsford’s VSR team mate Sceats to dive past and up to second. 

Having already wrapped up the 2026 PRO-AM title in race one, Kingsford allowed the faster-paced Sceats to storm past and into the overall lead. That allowed Kingsford to protect Sceats’ victory by keeping Sherlock at bay. And defend he did. Try as he might, an increasingly-frustrated Sherlock could not find a way past a resolute Kingsford, and the pair duelling all the way to the line.

Sceats crossed the line victorious, he and team mate Wisniewski taking the PRO win, followed by van der Drift and Kingsford making it a one-two VSR overall finish. Sherlock and Li took second in PRO ahead of Wolfe.

Buncharoen took AM honours ahead of Brian and Kevin Lee, with Kamlung Racing’s Bertram Lau and Mak Hing Tak in third. Lamborghini Cup winner was once again the masterful Weeraborwornpong from Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph’s Gerald Goh and Terence Tse.
