Batmobile Racing’s William Tregurtha and Jonathan Cecotto, and Vincenzo Sospiri Racing’s newly-announced Super Trofeo Junior drivers Liam Sceats and Gustaw Wisniewski, shared the spoils at South Korea’s formidable 3.908km Inje Speedium, taking an overall victory apiece.

Tregurtha and Cecotto dominated the opening 29-lap encounter, winning by a margin of more than 18 seconds from VSR’s Chris van der Drift and Todd Kingsford, the dazzling duo continuing their so-far unbroken run of PRO-AM victories. Sceats and Wisniewski took third overall, second in PRO, ahead of Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph’s Peter Li Zhicong and Super Trofeo Junior Titus Sherlock.

An edge-of-the-seat race two thriller reached a white-knuckle climax, with Kingsford defending heroically from PRO drivers Tregurtha and Wisniewski, before a bold move by the Polish youngster swept him past both drivers to snatch the lead and ultimate victory. The race finished under the safety car after Sherlock, who had been embroiled in the four-car battle for the win, came to a halt on track. Third PRO finisher was series newcomer Barrett Wolfe of Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph, the American youngster completing an impressive debut.

Cecotto and Tregurtha’s Batmobile Racing team mates Putera Mu’azzam and Kumar Prabakaran took two PRO-AM podium finishes, the Malaysian pair taking an impressive fifth overall in race two.

In the AM class, points-leader, True Visions Motorsports Thailand’s Suttiluck Buncharoen, increased his advantage with two more victories, while fellow Thai Supachai Weeraborwornpong did likewise in the Lamborghini Cup class.

After four of the six rounds of the 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia season, Tregurtha maintains the lead of the PRO title chase with a 22-point advantage over Sceats and Wisniewski, with team mate Cecotto – who joined Batmobile Racing from round two – third in the standings ahead of Li and Sherlock. Van der Drift and Kingsford extend their dominance of the PRO-AM title chase ahead of closest challengers Prabakaran and Mu’azzam, while Buncharoen now has a 24-point advantage from KAM LUNG Racing’s Bertram Lau in the AM standings. Weeraborwornpong tops the Lamborghini Cup table, 28 points clear of Eng and Tse.

After a well-earned summer break comes the final local round of the series for 2026, when Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia heads to the home of Chinese motorsport, the mighty Shanghai International Circuit. Round five of six will be held there from 4-6 September, before the final showdown and World Finals take place at Italy’s Autodromo Nazionale Monza from 22 -25 October.

Race one

Batmobile Racing’s William Tregurtha led the charge from pole having already made a strong impression on his debut at Inje Speedium. However, despite a good launch, Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph Super Trofeo junior driver Titus Sherlock managed to get alongside the Briton in the opening series of turns, diving past and snatching the lead.

Another driver to make a good start was Suttiluck Buncharoen, the True Visions Motorsports Thailand driver getting past AM pole-sitter Bertram Lau, driving solo for KAM LUNG Racing, to go sixth overall behind series newcomer Barrett Wolfe at Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph and VSR’s Todd Kingsford. 

Meanwhile, Super Trofeo junior driver Gustaw Wisniewski was on a charge from P3, the VSR ace rapidly closing the gap to the battling Tregurtha and Sherlock up ahead. PRO driver Wolfe was looming large in the mirrors of PRO-AM points-leader Kingsford, but the on-form Bronze driver refused to be rattled, defending superbly and convincingly shaking off his would-be rival. 

As the pit window approached, Tregurtha remained determined to reclaim his pole advantage from Sherlock, but the talented young American pushed hard, setting the fastest lap of the race thus far. Despite his efforts, Tregurtha managed to get alongside before diving past to re-take the lead. As the pit window opened, Tregurtha remained out on track to take full advantage of the clear air to maximize Batmobile Racing’s lead before handing over to team mate Jonathan Cecotto.

At the mid-way point, Kingsford held the PRO-AM lead, fourth overall behind Wisniewski, third of the PRO runners. Buncharoen led the AM class, while fellow Thai Supachai Weeraborwornpong of Siamgas Corse had maintained his Lamborghini Cup pole advantage.

Heading into the second stint, SQDA-GRIT Motorsport’s hopes were soon dashed with a 10-second stop-and-go penalty for a short pit stop, while Cecotto took up where Tregurtha had left off by setting a scorching pace out in the lead.

Behind Cecotto, Sherlock’s team mate Peter Li Zicong was soon coming under intense pressure from Liam Sceats, who had taken over from team mate and fellow Super Trofeo junior Wisniewski. However, closing fast on the battle for second was Chris van der Drift, having taken the wheel from team mate Kingsford. Van der Drift joined the fray and, in a formidable display of team work, the VSR pair managed to box in Li leaving him nowhere to go. First Sceats dived past Li, followed in short order by fellow New Zealander van der Drift.

As Cecotto stretched out Batmobile Racing’s lead yet further, Sceats looked good for second, but van der Drift had other ideas, pouncing on a tiny error by his fellow countryman to take the position.

There was plenty of action throughout the field in the closing minutes, with an eye-catching charge from Batmobile Racing’s Putera Mu’azzam, who gained three places before the flag to take seventh overall, second in the PRO-AM class.

After 29-laps, Tregurtha and Cecotto took a triumphant fifth consecutive overall victory together, this time by a commanding 18-second margin. Kingsford and van der Drift continued their season-long lock-out of the PRO-AM class, further extending their championship advantage and finishing second overall ahead of Wisniewski and Sceats. 

Sherlock and Li celebrated a third place PRO finish, both drivers having acquitted themselves superbly on the demanding Inje Speedium track, as had fellow PRO Wolfe, finishing fourth in class in an exciting Asian debut. 

A sixth AM victory in seven races for Buncharoen further strengthened his lead at the top of the class leaderboard ahead of Lau, while Weeraborwornpong also continued his thunderous charge towards the Lamborghini Cup title with six wins. Kim Sango and Steven Chian were second in class for Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph followed by Gerald Goh and Terence Tse for Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph. 

Race two

Jonathan Cecotto led the field away from pole for the start of race two, decisively slamming the door on a fast-starting Chris van der Drift. However, the Monegasque Batmobile Racing star wasn’t able to shake off either van der Drift nor Liam Sceats, both VSR drivers keeping him well within striking distance.

Batmobile Racing’s Putera Mu’azzam made early gains, getting by Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph’s Peter Li Zhicong and up to fourth overall. SQDA-GRIT Motorsport’s Kevin Lee snatched the AM lead from Suttiluck Buncharoen, before closing up to Lamborghini Cup contender Gerald Goh of Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph, getting by with a gutsy late dive on the inside.

Cecotto held on to the race lead right up until the pit window opened, but following the compulsory stops it was van der Drift’s team mate Todd Kingsford who emerged in the lead. Pursued by both Cecotto’s team mate William Tregurtha, and Gustaw Wisniewski, who had taken the wheel from Sceats, Kingsford mounted a truly gallant defense, refusing to be intimidated by the PRO pair and pounding out a series of wheel-perfect laps.

The three car, nose-to-tail duel continued until the trio was joined by Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph’s Titus Sherlock, who dived into the high-speed fray. Moments later, Wisniewski saw his moment and swept around the outside to pass both Tregurtha and Kingsford. Tregurtha then grabbed his chance to get past Kingsford, with Sherlock following suit.

With less than 10 minutes remaining, the finish was shaping up to be a tense, three-way fight between Wisniewski, Tregurtha and Sherlock, until the latter dramatically - and heartbreakingly - came to a halt on track. That brought out the safety car with under six minutes remaining, which the race ultimately finished behind.

Sceats and Wisniewski celebrated their second overall victory of the season so far, with Cecotto and Tregurtha second ahead of van der Drift and Kingsford, who remain unbeaten in PRO-AM. Third PRO finisher was series newcomer Barrett Wolfe for Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph, ahead of PRO-AM second-place finishers Putera Mu’azzam and Kumar Prabakaran. 

Completing his seventh AM win in eight races was Buncharoen from KAM LUNG Racing’s Bertram Lau and SQDA-GRIT Motorsport’s Lee and Yoon Jeon. Continuing his run of Lamborghini Cup wins was reigning and multiple class champion Supachai Weeraborwornpong for Siamgas Corse ahead of Lamborghini Busan by Racegraph’s Steven Chian and Kim Sangho, and Goh and team mate Terence Tse.
