Motorsport

The Autodromo Nazionale di Monza is preparing to host the final rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, Europe, and North America series, before drivers compete in the 13th edition of the Lamborghini World Finals starting on Saturday 24th October. A total of 10 races featuring nearly 80 cars and 128 drivers will mark the final competitive meeting for the outgoing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, ahead of the debut of the new Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo in 2027.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, Europe and North America championships will reach their conclusion at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale di Monza this weekend. A pair of 45-minutes per championship will settle the remaining class titles before competitors are pitted against each other for the 13th edition of the Lamborghini World Finals, which begin on Saturday 24th October.

In total, 10 races are scheduled to take place with nearly 80 cars and 128 drivers set to lock horns for the final race meeting for the outgoing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO, before it is replaced by the new-for-2027 Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo.

Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe

All four European titles remain up for grabs heading into the Monza weekend, with just one point separating DL Racing’s Simone Iaquinta and Kevin Gilardoni and the Oregon Team pairing of Silas Lovén Rytter and Patrik Fraboni at the top of the Pro standings. Each crew has won three races so far this year, with the former just edging ahead due to three pole positions versus Rytter and Fraboni’s two. The battle to determine third place in the final standings intensified in the solitary Barcelona race, with Rexal Villorba Corse’s Nicholas Pujatti and Benedetto Strignano entering the final round tied on 71 points with Leipert Motorsport’s Matias Salonen and Henri Tuomaala. Finnish pairing Salonen and Tuomaala recorded their maiden series win in Spain to leapfrog Leipert team-mates Axel Bengtsson and Månz Thalin, who in turn are just nine points further back. In Pro-Am, Bronislav Formánek and Anthony Pretorius sit on the cusp of being crowned champions; the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra hold a 24-point advantage over Oregon Team’s Pietro Perolini and Josef Knopp, who are tied on 82 points with ASR’s Marzio Moretti and Paolo Biglieri. VSR’s Paul Levet and Miguel Cristóvão are also mathematically in the hunt for the title, 30 points back from Formánek and Pretorius, with a maximum of 32 points available from the two races. Mičánek Motorsport is also fighting for the title in the Am class, as Jakub Knoll and Renaud Kuppens take a 15-point lead over CMR’s Rodrigue Gillion and Stéphane Lémeret ahead of the season finale. GT3 Poland’s Grzegorz Moczulski makes it a three-way fight for the crown, 23 points adrift. The Lamborghini Cup class, meanwhile, is still all to play for with seven crews still mathematically in contention for the championship. Nina Østergaard and Peder Demant Møller hold a slender three-point margin over Rexal Villorba Corse’s Claude-Yves Gosselin with Oregon Team’s Adalberto Baptista a further four points back. DL Racing’s Francesco Turzo is fourth in the standings, another point adrift while GT3 Poland’s Holger Harmsen is another serious title contender in fifth, two points behind Turzo. ASR’s Umar Abdullah Basalamah is sixth in the standings but not expected to make the trip to Monza, leaving team-mate Petar Matić the last mathematical challenger, 31 points off the top.

Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America

The final round on US soil at Indianapolis crowned the Pro-Am and Am champions but the outcome of the Pro and Lamborghini Cup classes remain uncertain heading to Monza. TR3 Racing’s Elias de la Torre holds a 17-point lead at the top of the Pro standings over the driver he started the season with, Will Bamber who switched to XONINE Racing after the opening round at Sebring. De la Torre has five victories to his name so far, versus Bamber’s four. Last year’s Pro champion, Hampus Ericsson, remains an outside bet for the title alongside Wayne Taylor Racing team-mate Nick Persing. The pair have won two races and sit 25 points behind De la Torre and just eight behind Bamber. In Lamborghini Cup, it’s a two-way fight between two Canadians for the title, with Topp Racing’s Rocky T Bolduc taking a narrow five-point advantage to Italy over TB Autosports’ Philippe Touchette. A key battle at Monza to watch out for is the one for third in the standings. Christopher Tasca currently holds third place but is not expected to take part in the final round, leaving the door open for either Clay Wilson (TR3 Racing) or Ray Shahi (Taurino Racing) – who sit one and three points adrift respectively – to be best of the rest in 2026. Wayne Taylor Racing’s Danny Formal and Graham Doyle have already wrapped up the Pro-Am title, leaving four crews fighting for runner-up at Monza.  Kaizen Autosport’s Seth Henry and Wyatt Foster currently occupy that place, three points ahead of the Forty7 Motorsports crew of Keawn Tandon and Lindsay Brewer, while TR3 Racing’s Martin Fuentes and Mateo Siderman are a further 10 points back in fourth. RAFA Racing Team’s Ian Porter and Chloe Chambers are also in the mix, as are WTR’s Marc Miller and Paul Nemschoff. In the Am category, Precision Performance Motorsports’ David Staab wrapped up the title at the previous round, with the Texan’s focus now firmly on winning the World Finals title.  Much like Pro-Am, a number of crews can finish second in Am: Dean Neuls (TR3 Racing) is currently second, seven points clear of PPM’s Gabriel Holguin. Three points back is 89x Motorsport’s Johan Schwartz, with the same margin also separating Schwartz from Anthony Bullock and Bullock from XONINE Racing team-mate Nick Groat.

Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia

Just one title race will go down to the wire in the Asian championship, as Batmobile Racing’s Will Tregurtha goes up against the VSR duo of Liam Sceats and Gustaw Wisniewski in a straight head-to-head battle in the Pro class. Tregurtha has been joined for the majority of the season by Super Trofeo veteran Jonathan Cecotto and leads Sceats and Wisniewski by just six points after an up-and-down penultimate round of the year at Shanghai. Tregurtha has taken six victories so far this season – one at Sepang and Inje and a double at both Ningbo and Fuji – while Sceats and Wisniewski have three wins – at Sepang, Inje and Shanghai. Cecotto himself sits third in the points, 27 points adrift of Tregurtha but cannot win the title, while the Lamborghini Bundang by Racegraph pairing of Peter Zhicong Li and Titus Sherlock are fourth, just 10 points back from Cecotto. In the Pro-Am class, VSR’s Chris van der Drift and Todd Kingsford will be aiming to complete a rare clean sweep of the season at Monza, having won every race so far. New Zealander Van der Drift and Australian Kingsford – who races under a Thai licence – have been the dominant force all year, only missing out on the absolute maximum score by dint of being beaten to pole position twice. Batmobile Racing’s Kumar Prabakaran and Putera Adam Halim Mu’azzam are assured of the runner-up position, with Putera set to rejoin his European counterparts in the World Finals a year after winning the Pro title at Misano. In Am, Suttiluck ‘Bobby’ Buncharoen mathematically secured the title at Shanghai, with Kamlung Racing’s Bertram Lau 32 points adrift heading into the weekend. However, Buncharoen counts more victories than Lau in the event of a tied score. Supachai Weeraborwornpong picked up his sixth Super Trofeo title in China and has an unassailable lead over Eng Peng ‘Gerald’ Goh and Terence Tse.
