Lamborghini’s history has been made by pioneers, visionaries who were able to bring incredible innovations to the industry of automotive.

Ferruccio Lamborghini

It all started in 1963 with Ferruccio Lamborghini, who transformed a war relic into a tractor and from there created one of the most iconic automotive brands in the world. A trailblazer in every sense of the word, Lamborghini aimed to create sports cars that would become the best GTs of the time.

Giampaolo Dallara

Lamborghini collaborated with some of the youngest, most brilliant engineers around, such as Giampaolo Dallara, who became the first Technical Director. During Dallara’s time, the brand came out with the first production cars, especially Lamborghini Miura, the first supercar of its time.

Paolo Stanzani

The iconic Countach came to be in thanks to Paolo Stanzani, who in 1968 became Technical Director and Production Director at Lamborghini. Stanzani developed the Countach project and created what would become the fastest super sports car of the next twenty years.

Bob Wallace

The legendary Lamborghini test driving process was created by Bob Wallace, who was Chief Test Driver from 1963 to 1975. Wallace developed all Lamborghini models up until and including Countach, creating the grounds for what to this day remains the ABC of the R&D department at Automobili Lamborghini.

Franco Scaglione

The design of Lamborghini’s 350 GTV is legendary. It came from the work of Franco Scaglione, who gave life to the model that would become Lamborghini’s face to the world, predicting what the brand would be in terms of design in the upcoming years.

Giulio Alfieri

General Director Giulio Alfieri was the one who developed Countach Evoluzione, a prototype of Countach almost entirely made of carbon fiber: lighter and faster than the original Countach. Alfieri was a revolution for the brand; to this very day, carbon fiber is one of Lamborghini’s most distinctive features.

Lamborghini owes its place in the world to the innovators from the past that poured their vision into the brand.
