As the car world’s center of gravity tilted towards Monterey Car Week, the House of the Raging Bull marked the unmissable automotive event with the inauguration of the Lamborghini Lounge Monterey, a stunning villa outpost near Pebble Beach featuring an array of specially-designed activities and experiences where over 1500 guests fully immersed themselves in Lamborghini’s Informal Luxury and in the Italian spirit for four days.
From the customized Ad Personam room where deposit holders of the new Aventador SVJ could configure their vehicles to their wildest specifications, or the thrilling immersion room where guests could experience the brand in a new light through a lively sensory presentation – the Lounge Monterey played host to a number of opportunities for guests of all ages. For those interested in experiencing the Lamborghini model range from behind the wheel, a team of Squadra Corse instructors was on hand to provide guided driving experiences featuring the thrilling Aventador S Roadster, or the dynamic Huracán Performante Spyder, along the stunning coastal roads of a 17-mile drive.
On Friday evening, the Lamborghini Lounge Monterey hosted an exclusive kickoff party for Monterey Car Week. At the inauguration event, over 500 VIPs, guests and influencers from all over the world were joined by the Consul General of Italy in San Francisco Lorenzo Ortona to toast to Italian excellence. Lamborghini’s Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Stefano Domenicali, was in attendance for the events, which also included homage to the 50th anniversary of the Espada and Islero models and a nod to 1963, the year Lamborghini was born.
“We are living a very exciting time for our company,” said Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “At this edition of Monterey Car Week, we are celebrating all things Lamborghini and we have much to be proud of, such as our recent sales record, the successful entry of the Urus Super SUV into the American market and our record-breaking V12 super car, the Aventador SVJ. It’s a truly energizing time for the iconic brand.”
The new Nürburgring-Nordschleife record-setter (6:44.97 minutes) Aventador SVJ, boasting a 770 HP naturally-aspirated V12 engine, was officially unveiled at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering”, and a limited-edition Aventador SVJ 63 with extensive use of carbon fiber was presented on the Concept Lawn of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday for spectators and collectors to admire.
Looking in the rearview mirror to recognize the rich heritage of the Sant’Agata-based brand, Lamborghini also honored the 50th anniversary of the magnificent Islero and Espada vehicles by wowing audiences at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering” with a stunning collection of rare specimens.
To further enhance the thrilling Californian atmosphere, the Huracán Performante and Urus were named the "Best of the Best" by the prestigious Robb Report magazine.
