Huracán GT3: From Daytona to Goodwood (Bugs Included)

23 May 2018

The Lamborghini lineup at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, taking place July 12-15, features the #11 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3 that conquered the prestigious 56th 24 Hours of Daytona on January 28, 2018. After 752 laps in a last-to-first comeback, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 #11 is the first car of the Italian brand to win a 24 hours race. The Austrian team dominated the GTD category (Gran Turismo Daytona) with the crew formed by Lamborghini Factory Driver Mirko Bortolotti, Lamborghini Young Driver Rik Breukers, Franck Perera and Rolf Ineichen.

The owner decided to “stop time” by giving the winning car the timelessness of an authentic work of art. Thanks to a special transparent treatment applied to protect every single mark left from the race, insects included, the car will be forever preserved exactly as it was the at time of the victory.

The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 that will storm up the hill in Goodwood is based on a hybrid body shell mainly made of aluminum and reinforced with carbon fiber components in the areas of greatest torsional stress. The body shell is equipped with a roll cage that meets FIA regulations and extends to the rear end, thus enhancing torsional stiffness. The body is crafted in composite materials, and the aerodynamics were developed together with Dallara Engineering with the direct support of Gian Paolo Dallara, the company's founder.
