The Goodwood FOS through the eyes of Lamborghini drivers

16 July 2018

Urus made its dynamic public debut in the UK at one of the most mind-blowing events of the year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Together with the world’s first SSUV, the Lamborghini super sports cars taking part in the hill climb included the Centenario Roadster, the Huracán Performante and Spyder, as well as the Aventador S Coupé and Roadster.
This was a very special event for both the spectators and the drivers who drove up the hill with the Lamborghini masterpieces. With eyes sparkling with excitement and proud to represent Lamborghini before the automotive world gathered in Goodwood, they shared their impressions.

Urus did the hill climb with Andrea Amici, Lamborghini GT3 Junior Driver, behind the wheel: “I am very excited to drive the world’s first SSUV at Goodwood, especially because I started my career in GT3, so racing in a show like this is very special to me, it’s a great thrill. Urus has the design and performance of a Lamborghini combined with everyday comfort. When you come from the world of motorsports like me and usually drive racing cars, you don’t expect this kind of performance from an SUV. But this is a Super SUV. It’s really a full-package.”

The Centenario Roadster is one of a limited edition of 20 produced together with 20 coupés created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birthday. Max Venturi, who drove it up the hill, thinks “it’s already very special in itself for its captivating design, but its power is also absolutely amazing, you can feel it right from the starting line. This is my twelfth year at Goodwood with Lamborghini, and being here, what’s more with a brand like Lamborghini, is always special, as it’s a unique event where you can feel an unmatched atmosphere and passion.”

Sarah Bovy, Lamborghini Squadra Corse Instructor commented: “The Huracán Performante Spyder is the ideal car for this event because it has the perfect power and the body is extremely efficient. On a track like this, it is important to be able to switch from one mode to another very easily and to play with the car, as you would with a go-kart. And that’s what I feel when I am driving up the hill with this Huracán. Also, the noise of the exhaust and the engine is fantastic. It’s really part of the magic. It makes some revs in the middle of the fence, waving for more, and that’s really cool.” The amazing environment is electrifying: “This is my first time in Goodwood and it’s an awesome feeling to be here, because it’s all about sharing a passion.”

Milos Pavlovic, Lamborghini Squadra Corse Instructor, drove the Aventador S Coupé: “I love this car, I think designwise and soundwise it is unrivalled here in Goodwood, nobody is louder than us, and at the same time it drives awesomely. Also, I am impressed at how many fans came to see us. I knew this was a big event, but I didn’t expect it to be as big as this! It’s something you have to do at least once if you love cars.”
