First Squadra Corse Hypercar and Urus ST-X: World Previews

25 October 2019

The new 12-cylinder hypercar developed by Squadra Corse will debut in 2020 and is foreshadowed in an evocative teaser, and the Urus ST-X has taken to the racetrack for the first time, driven by nine-time Motocross Champion Tony Cairoli. These are the exhilarating previews presented during the 2019 World Final in Jerez.

First Squadra Corse Hypercar

A 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine that delivers 830 CV: this is the track only (but no races) super sports car developed by Squadra Corse and designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile to be previewed during the event in a few particularities, including the large rear wing, the airscoop on the roof, and the racing front hood with dual air intakes. The car features a front frame in aluminum, a carbon fiber monocoque for the maximum safety, a steel rollcage to maximize the torsional and bending stiffness, 6-speed sequential Xtrac transmission with a structural load-bearing function, and the arms of the suspension compartment directly connected to the gearbox, guaranteeing optimal kinematics and a significant improvement in the stiffness to weight ratio. Additionally, an innovative mechanical self-locking differential allows the driver to adjust its preload dynamically to optimize driveability depending on the circuit and the conditions of the asphalt.

Urus ST-X

The first Super SUV in the world of racing, Urus S-TX is equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine and has a lighter structure. The front features a carbon fiber bonnet with supplementary air intakes and the rear is characterized by the carbon wing and the racing exhausts.

The body is dominated by the Verde Mantis (green) color typical of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, highlighted with red details; the cockpit, reinforced by a tubular roll-bar, features racing seats and a fire extinguishing system. The first race is scheduled during the 2020 World Finals in Misano Adriatico, when the winners of the four classes of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo will have the opportunity to challenge two- and four-wheel Motorsport celebrities on a special track.
