The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, is a US motorsport circuit, host of the 2012 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix and the 2013 Motorcycle Grand Prix of the Americas. The circuit is 3.426 miles (5.513 km) long with 20 turns, and an elevation change of 133 feet (41 m). Many of the turns take inspiration from some of the best-known circuits, including the Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel sequence at Silverstone, the turns of the Hockenheim circuit, and turn 8 in Istanbul. In some places, the track is deliberately very wide to allow drivers to take different trajectories.
