Every race car requires extreme aerodynamics and to achieve that level of performance on the new road-legal Huracán STO, Lamborghini has used all its racing experience.

At the front, a splitter distributes airflow to improve the car’s ground effect, while air ducts on the hood generate front downforce and louvers increase the outgoing airflow to reduce pressure in the wheelhouse and further increase downforce.

At the rear, a shark fin improves the dynamic behavior of the car especially when cornering, an air scoop keeps the rear underhood temperature cool and a rear diffuser maintains the correct level of rear downforce. The rear wing is designed to obtain the desired aerodynamics downforce increase and limited drag, while its slotted design encompassing three manually adjustable positions enhances the car’s racing feel by allowing the driver to adapt the front aero balance to suit different driving styles.

One of the features that sets the Huracán STO apart is its state-of-the-art braking system. At its heart is the special CCMR carbon-ceramic brake disc, developed by Brembo and derived from Formula 1 racing. Rarely used on road cars, here the CCMR disc has been combined with track tires, a higher aerodynamic load and a dedicated brake cooling system, all of which are designed to optimize braking performance and consistency over time. To further enhance braking confidence, the pedal has been slightly lengthened to ensure greater reactivity and together these elements offer a remarkable level of braking consistency in all driving conditions and an exclusive sensation of safe driving.

As the mission behind the design of the new Huracán STO is to instill a racing attitude into a street-legal super car, the keyword has always been “lightweight”. Every single component has been meticulously researched to have the best racing performance, with an optimum weight-to-power ratio.

This has meant using strong, ultra-light carbon fiber body panels and adopting, for some elements, a technology developed by the aerospace industry - “sandwich” - to reduce weight. Then there is the racing-style Alcantara® upholstery, a 30% lighter windshield, new magnesium rims, reduced soundproofing and a titanium rear arch.

All these solutions have led to an overall reduction of 43 kg compared to the Huracán Performante, ensuring the STO offers a lighter, faster, distinctively racing experience.

When the engine in the new Huracán STO roars into life, its motorsports heritage can be both felt and heard. As Lamborghini has applied to its design all the knowhow gained from its Squadra Corse greats, like the Huracán ST and GT3 EVO. The result is a powerful 5.2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine that produces an output of 640 CV (470 kW) at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 565 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This offers the very best engine output for track racing, which is then combined with a finely tuned accelerator response. The level of performance is striking: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 9.0 seconds, and a top speed of 310 km/h. An unforgettable driving experience that is enhanced by the engine’s responsive racing feel, direct pedal-to-throttle tuning and increased sound sharpness at high revs. This is pure power.

To offer new heights of performance and the sensation of driving a genuine race car, Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) has been replaced on the Huracán STO with a fixed and more direct steering ratio and three new outstanding driving modes: STO, TROFEO and PIOGGIA. 

STO is designed to offer a fun, street-driving experience on any road and under any weather condition.  

PIOGGIA is a track mode created to enhance performance in wet and slippery conditions with the Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics (LDVI) subsystems calibrated to ensure superior road holding. 

And TROFEO is a driving mode that maximizes performance in dry track conditions by enhancing the vehicle’s precision and response with the LDVI subsystems calibrated to optimize grip and keep the vehicle balance neutral.

With Lamborghini Connected Telemetry, the driving experience on the track will be even more fun. You get helpful information on how to improve while behind the wheel, and it analyzes the performance achieved in detail with the UNICA app, turning your smartphone into your personal track engineer.

The system, perfectly integrated in the Lamborghini Infotainment System, records and projects useful information while driving directly in the Instrument Cluster and central display. At the end of the driving session, the collected data and the videos recorded by 2 cameras built into the vehicle can be directly analyzed on your smartphone using the UNICA app. The accuracy of the collected data and the video modified with dedicated widgets provides an in-depth analysis aimed at improving your driving performance.
