Two Miura S’s restored by Polo Storico won the first prize in their categories at two prestigious British Concours d’Elégance, the Salon Privé in Oxford and Hampton Court Palace in London.

The beautiful Miura S originally purchased by singer Rod Stewart, and recently completely restored by its new owner, made its public debut at the 14th edition of the Salon Privé, one of the most important Concours d’Elégance for classic cars in the world, held in the exclusive setting of Blenheim Palace in Oxford.
The 1971 car (chassis no. 4863) took the Best in Class award for Supercars of the 1970s, the special “The Most Iconic Car” prize and the overall 3rd place final in the Concours d’Elégance. The series of prizes, awarded by the judging committee chaired by Derek Bell MBE, confirms the dedication to details and the meticulousness with which Polo Storico carried out the restoration that lasted eighteen months.

At the Salon Privé, the incredible past of Lamborghini also encountered its captivating present: the event also included the European debut of the Aventador SVJ, presented in August at Monterey Car Week in the United States. The new supercar of the House of the Raging Bull currently holds the lap record for production cars on the legendary German circuit of Nürburgring-Nordschleife, clocking in at just 6:44.97 minutes.

The rich and intense British automobile week was crowned by the award for The Best 1970s Car bestowed on another 1971 Miura S restored by Polo Storico (chassis no. 4845) at the Hampton Court Palace Concours in London, one of the most exclusive events in the world, with the participation of over 60 of the most prestigious classic cars.

The only Miura shipped out to South East Asia by Lamborghini at the time, after it was finished and sent to its first owner in Singapore on June 28th 1971, it never came back to Europe. This right hand drive Miura S in the pale green combination with a blue interior, has done just under 1300 miles from new and today is probably the Miura with the least mileage on the clock in the world.

It had not been out on the road since the end of the 1970s, and was purchased in 2009 by its current owner, a collector from Indonesia who asked Polo Storico to undertake the necessary complete restoration at the end of 2016. From the very beginning of the show, the Miura S proved to be a magnet for the public, even attracting the attention of His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, patron of the event, who stopped to admire it for quite some time, asking about the restoration.
