Miura and Marzal Awarded at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este

27 mai 2019

Miura and Marzal, the two iconic Lamborghinis that took part in the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2019, received awards in their respective participation classes: “Baby You Can Drive My Car: Musical Stars’ Cars” and “Daring to Dream: Concepts Which Rocked the Motoring World”.

Held carrying the slogan “The Symphony of Engines”, the exclusive event that charmed the elegant banks of Lake Como saw some of the world’s most exclusive vintage cars compete in eight classes.

The Miura P400 S of 1971, one of the only six Miuras originally painted in Azzurro Mexico (blue), belonged to Antonio Ciacci, known to the general public by the pseudonym Little Tony, one of Italy’s most successful singers of the 60s.
This Miura was certified by the Lamborghini Polo Storico and was totally restored by Lamborghini brand professionals, who availed themselves of the advice of the Polo Storico in order to be able to carry out their work with all information at hand, in observance of the processing techniques in all restoration stages, and using original spare parts.

The Marzal, also designed by the genius of Marcello Gandini, charmed the panel and guests with its futuristic appearance. The glass gull-wing doors and almost entirely transparent passenger compartment with silver leather-upholstered seats are enveloped by sensational external lines. From the mechanical viewpoint, this masterpiece is the only six-cylinder Lamborghini ever made. Built on the rear transversely-mounted V12 engine layout of the Miura, the Marzal’s engine was turned 180 degrees with respect to that of its precursor, so that the first gear is down and away from the steering wheel.
