At the wheel of the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae, Luca Natali Stradivari, direct descendant of the legendary Italian dynasty of luthiers, had the chance to savor the violin notes of the Lamborghini 12-cylinder engine. “The high frequencies of the instrument are enormously emotional and touch everyone by giving us the idea of what art and music can manage to express,” said the composer, who stars in one of the three video clips that will feature other great names of international music, who have joined together to celebrate the V8, V10 and V12 engine.

“As is true for a car, the harmony of the violin is given by all the elements making it up, from the wood to the varnishes,” the artist continued. “But it is the performer who decides its intonation. Just like it is the driver who determines that of a car.”

Like a pendulum capable of swinging from one extremity to the other of driving pleasure, the Lamborghini V12 is, in the same way, a musical instrument able to cover the entire range of sound registers. “The feature of the 12-cylinder engine is its crescendo,” explained Mario Montone, Lamborghini NVH wholevehicle coordinator who, together with his team of sound engineers designs and ‘draws’ the music of all House of the Raging Bull engines. “It has a spectrum that starts from the loudness of the lowest rpm and goes up to the sharpness of the top speed. The violin is the instrument that comes the closest to this expressive range.”

Playing in the background of Stradivari’s journey is The Engine Songs V12, the playlist of 24 tracks (there will be one for each type of engine) made by Lamborghini together with music producer Alex Trecarichi, harmonizing the vibrations of the cylinders according to strict scientific and psychoacoustic procedures with the best of international music.

It is a multi-sensory world that will harmonize with new vibrations soon. The pure Lamborghini V12 combustion engine will go out of production with the last Aventador Ultimae before the end of 2022, while the heir of the dynasty will be equipped with an unprecedented V12 in the plug-in hybrid version.

To create new music. And a future to be entirely composed.
