Lamborghini Squadra Corse announces the first two drivers in the line-up of the LMDh program that will debut in 2024 in the top level classes of prestigious endurance championships: the FIA World Endurance Championship (Hypercar class) and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (GTP class).
The drivers are Andrea Caldarelli and Mirko Bortolotti, who currently compete in the most important GT races with Lamborghini and will drive the LMDh cars and contribute to their development as test drivers.

The inclusion of the two men in the LMDh program rewards the Factory Drivers not only for “achieving historic results for Lamborghini in the GT arena” but also for “the continuity of their commitment to the Squadra Corse family,” commented Giorgio Sanna, Lamborghini Head of Motorsport.

Mirko Bortolotti (Trento, January 10, 1990) won his first victories with Lamborghini in 2014. In 2015, he stood on the podium with the debutant Huracán GT3, and following his confirmation as an official Lamborghini driver, he won the Blancpain GT Series (2017), the 24 Hours of Daytona (2018 and 2019) and the 12 Hours of Sebring (2019) in the GTD class. In 2022, he debuted in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) with the Grasser team’s Huracán GT3 and is currently leading the drivers’ standings.

“Representing the brand on the most important stage of endurance racing and competing for overall victory in the great endurance classics is both an honor and a responsibility,” is the spirit with which the Trento native is participating in the LMDh project.

Andrea Caldarelli (Pescara, February 14, 1990), hired as an official Lamborghini driver in 2017, contributed to winning the Blancpain GT Series title with his teammates Bortolotti and Christian Engelhart. With the Huracán GT3 EVO of the Orange 1 FFF Racing Team (of which he is also the team principal), Caldarelli won the GT World Challenge Europe in 2017 and the 24 Hours of Daytona GTD class in 2020. In 2021, he earned the drivers’ title after a triumphant season in the U.S. championship, where he is still competing.

“Racing with my favorite automotive brand in the most prestigious endurance races”: the childhood dream of the driver from Pescara is one step closer to reality.
