As the 2018 Formula One season kicked off in Melbourne, the long-awaited Lamborghini Super SUV Urus was revealed to the Australian public for the first time at the Formula 1® 2018 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
“We’re incredibly excited to debut the Urus for the first time to the public at Formula 1®,” said Stefano Domenicali, Chairman & CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, ahead of the event.
The world’s first SSUV was showcased at the Champions Gateway Display inside the circuit throughout the weekend, alongside two other members of the Lamborghini family, the Aventador S Roadster and the Huracán Performante. Passionate fans could also spot the cars in action: an Urus led a fleet of 40 Lamborghinis driven by their owners for three laps around the spectacular setting of Albert Park Circuit, situated between artificial lakes and cricket fields.
During the event, owners, customers and guests were greeted into the luxurious Lamborghini Lounge at the Formula 1® Paddock Club adorned with gorgeous wall artworks representing Urus, the Miura and the profile of the founder of the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based company, Ferruccio Lamborghini.
Australia represents one of the most successful markets for Lamborghini global sales. Ranked 8th according to 2017 performance, the prospects for 2018 are expected to be just as positive, also thanks to the introduction of the Urus, capable of opening doors to new possibilities and elevating the SUV category to a level not previously possible, the Super SUV.
