Kyoto, a historical castle that is a UNESCO world heritage site and 54 simply perfect collector’s vehicles. That is the setting where various masterpieces of Lamborghini tradition won the 2019 Kyoto Concours d’Elegance in different categories. The event was held April 13 and 14, and was supported by the Lamborghini Polo Storico. Standing out first and foremost was the timeless beauty of a very rare Lamborghini 3500 GTZ of 1965 that outstripped the multi-brand competition to take the title of “Best of Show”. Owned by a US collector, the GTZ is fitted with Zagato bodywork and was built on commission in only two specimens.

Sitting behind the wheel of a Miura of the ‘70s and turning the key provides the thrill of starting up a piece of automotive history. Another star of the show was, in fact, the Miura SV Verde (green) of 1971 that won two awards, taking top honors in the “Lamborghini 1963-70” and “Best Lamborghini” classes, against the background of the picturesque season of cherry trees in bloom.

In marching forward through the years, another two beauties were on hand: a spectacular Countach of 1975 in Arancio (orange) with black interior won the “Lamborghini 1971-1985” class and the “Most Desirable to Drive” trophy, and a Diablo GT of 2000 in black with black interior led the “Lamborghini 1986-2000” class.

The concours wound up with the “2019 Tour d’Elegance” that passed through locations full of charm of the Seto Bridge and that went as far as the island of Awaji, offering breathtaking views crossed by immortal vehicles.
