Grande Giro Lamborghini 50° anniversario confirms over 180 registrations, 50% historical cars. Dinners in Forte dei Marmi and Rome defined

Sant’Agata Bolognese, 20 December 2012 - At less than one month until registration closes there are already over 180 registered cars to the Grande Giro Lamborghini 50° Anniversario, of which half are historical cars: 17 Murciélago, 12 Diablo, 9 Countach, 7 Miura, 3 Espada, 2 400 GT, 2 350 GT, with little more than a hundred places remaining in the five-day event starting on May 7. A more detailed schedule of the tour’s evening events celebrating Lamborghini’s first 50 years, has now been released.

Milan, international center of industrial design and fashion, will be the first stop and the starting point for the tour. The next day the parade will set off for Bobbio where it will stop for lunch at the Saint Columbanus Abbey, founded in the seventh century.

The tour's arrival at Forte dei Marmi, one of the world’s most important and enjoyed tourist destinations on the Tyrrhenian coast, will be celebrated with dinner at the legendary club La Capannina di Franceschi, famous above all in the sixties as a hang-out for the rich and famous and for hosting stars such as Édith Piaf, Paul Anka, Abbe Lane, Xavier Cugat and the Platters.

The Grand Tour then moves on to Rome: the Eternal City with its artistic and archeological treasures, splendid horizons and majestic villas and one of the best-loved tourist destinations in the world. The stay here will be capped off with dinner in the Complesso Monumentale di Santo Spirito in Sassia, a charming Renaissance cloister dating back to 727 AD.

The parade will then continue through the wonderful village of Orvieto before stopping for lunch at Il Borro in San Giustino Valdarno, the historic hunting reserve of the Ferragamo family. Setting off again for Bologna, it will pass through the 1,000 m Futa pass in the Apennines, made famous by the Mille Miglia.

And here in Automobili Lamborghini's home province, the cars from the House of the Raging Bull will take center stage with the Concours d’Elegance scheduled for the morning of 11 May in Bologna's main square, Piazza Maggiore, before setting off in procession for Sant'Agata Bolognese. Here a gala dinner rich in surprises awaits guests, closing the celebrations of 50 glorious years in unforgettable style.
