Lamborghini Calgary Dealer Opening
Calgary, Alberta/Sant’Agata Bolognese, July 3, 2014 – Lamborghini’s fourth Canadian dealership, Lamborghini Calgary, opened its doors to clients and the media on Thursday, July 2. Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann attended the grand opening ceremony where he, along with dealership principal Asgar Virji, celebrated among a crowd of more than 180 enthusiastic clientele.
“I am pleased to support the opening of such a beautiful facility in one of North America’s fastest growing markets,” Stephan Winkelmann said. “Today we add yet another dealer to our global network, which spans 50 countries. With a fourth showroom in Canada, we not only position ourselves to better serve exiting owners, but to advance our strengthening position in the future.”
Appropriately, the most exciting production Lamborghini to date ¬– the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce – stood on display. Its pulse-quickening performance is not only evident in its design and aerodynamics, but in its recently published sub-seven-minute Nürburgring lap time. The Aventador SV is limited to 600 units worldwide and offers a top speed in excess of 350 km/h.
The Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 was also on display, boasting a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine with 610 horsepower capable of launching to 100 km/h in only 3.2 seconds with a top speed in excess of 325 km/h.
“We have been building relationships with Lamborghini enthusiasts in this part of Canada for almost seven years. In that time, I’ve had the opportunity to hear and see why they are each so passionate about their cars,” Asgar Virji said. “There are currently 150 Lamborghini owners in Alberta. By opening this facility, we not only have the opportunity to offer them a clubhouse in which to share their passion for driving, but a world-class facility to ensure a flawless customer experience befitting the Lamborghini brand.”
Located in the newly established Meadows Mile sports car auto mall, the facility is designed to be reminiscent of a bull surveying his vista. In order to achieve this, the architects behind the project employed white stucco and three different profiles of metal panels on the building’s exterior. The end result is pays homage to the emotionally stirring cars on display inside.
In order to properly showcase those vehicles, Lamborghini Calgary used special Starphire glass that provides an especially clear view into the main showroom, which has space for seven cars. The upper level will hold as many as 20 vehicles. More than a showroom, the store also functions as a place where owners can meet and enjoy their mutual passion for exotic automobiles.
Lamborghini Calgary has a complete service centre capable of performing routine maintenance on the Lamborghini’s newest products as well as cars dating back into its heritage.
