Sustainability

Automobili Lamborghini is committed to adapting its economic and business goals to embrace the concept of environmental protection and the ongoing improvement of environmental conditions and energy efficiency.

Automobili Lamborghini is developing an integrated strategy for environmental protection based on innovation of processes and products. This commitment includes the target of reducing by 35 percent the CO2 emissions of Lamborghini cars and become CO2 neutral by 2015.

In 2012, the inauguration of the new building dedicated to developing prototypes and pre-series cars is part of this commitment. It is the first industrial building in Italy to be certified in energy class A. The building will be equipped with a photovoltaic system that will cover the annual energy need, allowing it to be CO2-neutral. This requirement will become a standard for all new buildings in the Lamborghini Headquarters.

In 2011, Lamborghini Park was also inaugurated, as a part of the "Lamborghini for Biodiversity - Research Project Forest Oaks", which included the planting of over 10,000 young oak trees in an area of approximately 70,000 square meters in the town of Sant'Agata Bolognese.

The installation of a 17,000 square meters photovoltaic system guarantees a reduction of 1,552 tons of CO2 per year.

Automobili Lamborghini is developing, implementing and monitoring the best use of natural resources and the protection of human health through an Environmental Management System in accordance with international standards UNI EN ISO 14001 and EN ISO 50001.

Last but not least, Automobili Lamborghini is the first car manufacturer in Italy to have obtained ISO 50001 certification (October 2011), which confirms the company's commitment to ongoing improvement of the energy performance in all areas of activity.
