Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo 2013 commences in Monza
There are just a few days to run before the Autodromo Nazionale Monza will be resonating to the sound of the massed ranks of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series which gets underway in Europe on Saturday April 13 for a six race series alongside the Blancpain Endurance Series and a one-off night race at Misano together with the Italian GT Championship.
With an all-new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo race car, three new teams, a host of new drivers including this weekend’s VIP driver, Italian TV celebrity Jimmy Ghione and the return of the leading contenders in both the PRO-AM and Amateur series, the racing promises to be as eventful and compelling as ever.
Automobili Lamborghini’s President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann confirmed the intention for the European, Asian and US series to converge in a World Final as he said, “We look forward to welcoming the winners from each continental series to join us for our inaugural World Final later this year. In the meantime, I look forward to a fiercely competitive season in Europe and hugely entertaining racing once again.”
